We recently asked South African bloggers to mobilise their blogs by converting them into apps using the App Wizard tool for Nokia’s Ovi Store. At the same time as extending the reach of their blog into a great international app store (that hast just crossed the 9 million downloads a day marker globally), bloggers would also stand a chance to win a trip to SXSW along with a R25 000 advertising contract for their blog. Because we were feeling particularly generous, two runners up are also are also going to win a R25000 advertising contract. After building the app, all they had to do was come back to the blog and complete the entry form. Once the app was approved, bloggers needed to promote the app during the month of July and voila, the app with the most downloads wins the amazing prize!

We had an overwhelming response and we are proud to say that in the period since the competition opened till the end of July the publishers who entered have generated over 65 000 downloads on the Ovi Store without any promotional effort on the apps from Nokia.
