When someone is as much a master of mobile as Emma Kaye is, it’s probably a good idea to check out what phone she chooses. And for Emma, it’s a Nokia smartphone all the way.
But just who is Emma Kaye? She’s an innovator on mobile technology platforms from an executive point of view. That much is attested to in her being voted one of the top 50 women in the world of mobile entertainment.
Check out her full profile here.
But more than that, Emma is also a giver. Her take on the smartphone revolution shows how she believes emerging economies can embrace this trend: “Mobility has huge socio-economic, educational, commercial, societal and individual significance. Emerging economies have been hugely resourceful in using mobility in socio-economically important ways, to empower micro enterprises. By embracing mobility as a content delivery platform, emerging countries or continents can leapfrog developed economies, establishing a unique societal brand in a vibrant new industry”.
That’s what she’s setting out to achieve with her latest project, bozza.mobi, where Emma and her team are creating a ‘mobihood’, or mobile neighbourhood. It’s an application that sits on your phone and allows you to access the mobihood to see what content your friends are watching and recommending.
It’s all about ‘hyper local’ content: content that is created in communities using Nokia smartphones to shoot, edit and upload anything you want to share. Young township filmmakers are trained to shoot content for mobile, using mobile phones. They give their own creative expression to generic content, which can be anything from music and dance to features on local small businesses. In short, the mobihood creates a platform to drive entrepreneurship and the success of small business.
As an innovator, a leader and an inspiration, Emma features in a new Nokia smartphones campaign, ‘Go beyond the ordinary’, this has been on the air, online, and in social for a couple of weeks now check out the website for more information.
Hopefully you’ve seen her appear in this campaign – so please tell us what you think!
